Your cork floor dimensions will be affected by fluctuating humidity levels. Care should be taken to control your humidity within the 35 - 50% range. In the dry season, your humidifier is required to minimize shrinkage. Gaps between the boards may develop despite your best efforts.

Door mats and runners at your entrance way will keep grit and moisture from being tracked in. Maguire's will gladly supply you with a felt pad that can be used safely over cork floor in place of rubber, foam and plastic backed mats. Keep in mind that cork floors are very soft and should be protected from hard objects by using felt pads.

Exposure to sunlight will bring about changes to the shade and color of any cork floor. Area rugs and furniture should be occasionally relocated to ensure more even changes in shading.
