Water and hardwood floors don't mix! At Maguire's, we use only the best water based Swedish formula on the market - BONA.

Lightly sweep your hardwood floors before using the BONA formula to eliminate any small stones, mud or dirt that can scratch your floors.

Any furniture that rests directly on top of a hardwood floor should have felt protectors that are available at Maguire's.

Please consult with your Maguire's team before using any over the counter – oil based products on your hardwood floors.

If liquid is spilled on your hardwood floor, use a slightly damp cloth, or paper towel to clean the spill.

Your hardwood floor dimensions will be affected by fluctuating humidity levels. Care should be taken to control your humidity within the 35 - 50% range. In the dry season, your humidifier is required to minimize shrinkage. Gaps between the boards may develop despite your best efforts.

Door mats and runners at your entrance way will keep grit and moisture from being tracked in. Maguire's will gladly supply you with a felt pad that can be used safely over hardwood floors in place of rubber, foam and plastic backed mats.

Exposure to sunlight will bring about changes to the shade and color of any hardwood floor. Area rugs and furniture should be occasionally relocated to ensure more even changes in shading.
